Baby Comparison

I took Cate to a doctor's appointment on Friday, and she is healthy, but very small compared to what our other kids have been. She weighed in at 14 lb 12 oz (5-10%tile) and is 26.25" long (25-50%tile). That is pretty small for an almost 8 month old. This made me want to look up pictures of my other kid-lets at the same age to remind myself of what they were like! So here are our 7 to 8 month comparisons (you may also notice the difference in picture quality):

Samantha:
Already wearing all of her hair in pigtails. She always had big gaping smiles with LOTS of slobber! What a happy baby!

Anna:
Chubby! Look at those eyes! Anna didn't crawl/move until she was 11 months old. She just sat and waited for us to bring her toys. She smiled constantly.
Adam:
Also chubby (despite allergies). He was our earliest crawler at 6 months. By 7 months he was pulling himself up on things. He was such a happy guy (and still is)!

Cate:
Such a little thing, but SO happy! She is a mix of all 3 of our kids, but has darker coloring like Samantha, but obviously very dark hair, unlike Samantha. We love it! She sports the best baby mo-hawk, don't you think?

First Grass Experience, Sidewalk Chalk becomes Face Chalk, and other Stuff

We're up to the same old stuff here in our neck of the woods! We've had the most BEAUTIFUL weather, so we're soaking up the sun and enjoying the warmth while it lasts! I LOVE SPRING!!

Cate can sit up and eat in the high chair now, which is so nice! Look at her 2 cute teeth!

Samantha with all her missing teeth. She's lost 7 so far! And she's only in kindergarten! She's holding a toothpick (the blurry line in the front). They were enjoying some playdough time.
Adam holds Cate several times a day. She's pretty good to put up with him. He loves her. The other day he said to me (spelling phonetically), "Cate ish sho coot. I lub her sho much! Cate ish my besht friend eber!"
Last week I tried a new, very cute way of braiding the girls hair. It's like a french braid using two pieces that you tie in knots after you add hair to the two pieces (I didn't take pictures. Sorry). Anyway, it made for some crazy hair when we took it out that night! We all thought it was so hilarious!
Samantha's braid went across the top of her head like a headband, which is why her's looks a bit more crazy.
Cate's first experience sitting on grass. She wasn't exactly thrilled, but she really tried to bear it well. But then she was done.

And then there was chalk. They play with sidewalk chalk a lot. And on this particular day they thought it would be fun to chalk themselves! Anna really cracks me up when we take pictures now. She does a different silly pose for every single shot. She does one pose, then the next, bam bam bam, each coming right after the other. What a model!

Catching Up

Here are some very out of order pictures of the goings on of the last month. March has been crazy weather in our neck of the woods. Yesterday it was over 70 degrees, and 2 weeks ago it was snowing. Of course, coming from Utah, we're pretty well used to that!
Adam is in the mischievous 2's. He is curious about everything, and has the energy to find out about it all. We usually have many daily occurrences of instances like the one pictured above. It's toothpaste, BTW.

Cate makes this face between almost every bite of food. It cracks me up!

Another 2 year old moment. Here's an idea: First, mom must be out of the room. Second, spill the water all over the table. Third, lay in the water. Last, drink it off the table like a dog. Why, we may ask?! We'll never know :) But it definitely entertains the older sisters!
