We had a very fun 4th of July this year. We were able to go into Boston to see the free concert at the Hatch-Shell where the Boston Pops played, and some really great song artists performed. We stayed overnight in Boston, so that made it a lot less stressful, and obviously more fun for the kids. We went with another family, so the kids had a great time playing with their friends all day, and we enjoyed ourselves. It was a little warmer than we would have liked, but, after playing all day at Boston Common, we were able to kick back at the hotel for a while before the concert started. It was really a great concert, and so fun to be in Boston on the 4th.
I had made matching patriotic dresses for the girls, which got way more attention than I would have thought! I guess I didn't really think about them drawing attention, but they sure did. When we first went in to set our blankets up in the stadium, a camera man came and sat about a foot from Anna filming her as well as Samantha from behind. They had no idea. I should have asked him who he was filming for, but didn't. So they may have been aired on some station, but we'll never know :) Everyone was commenting on the dresses, as well as taking pictures. Especially while we were standing in line (not much else to do, I guess). In fact, the next morning we went out to breakfast and the ladies at the table next to us said that they had been behind us in line for the concert, and had taken pictures of our girls in their adorable dresses. Who knew? Let me just say that the girls did not mind the attention!

The next day we went for a short walk around Harvard Square. We took a few pictures while we were there. We were also able to get a family picture since someone kindly offered to take our picture. We don't get pictures with everyone in the family in it very often. We only have a couple weeks before our next member of the family joins us.
We had a great time - we're definitely glad we went!
