My Cartoon Twin (according to Samantha)

I don't know if any of you or your kids watch PBS, or remember seeing the Sun Maid Raisins commercial. Samantha absolutely believes that I am the Sun Maid Raisin girl. Whenever the commercial comes on she says, "There you are Mom!" Once she said to me, "Remember when you were in that beautiful field with grapes, Mom?" Or if Paul's in the room she'll say, "Look, it's Mommy!" There could definitely be a worse cartoon comparison, so I'll take looking like the Sun Maid Raisin girl any day :) What do you think?

Notice Anything Different About Me?

Yep. My figure has begun to change due to a little BOY in my tummy! This picture was taken almost a month ago, but the only recent pictures I have of myself I happen to be in a swimsuit (from my recent family reunion), so I thought I'd spare you on that account. Just use your imagination as to how big I must be now. The baby's due date is November 21st, so I'm 23 weeks along at this point. I'm grateful to have my appetite and my energy back - I'm definitely enjoying the second trimester. The reason we didn't tell earlier is because we were trying to keep it a secret from my family before our reunion last week. It was more of a surprise to some than others, but it did work! Just thought I'd let everyone else know as well!

Bar Harbor, Maine

Another fantastic weekend trip! We would definitely recommend it. We spent most of the weekend in Acadia National Park, which is right in Bar Harbor. It was beautiful!! We were able to hike, bike, and play at the beach. Does it get any better than that? Here are some fun pictures and videos from the weekend.




At the summit of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. It felt like so long since we had ever been on top of any kind of mountain and been able to see a beautiful view. (By the way, this mountain may not qualify as one out west, but for here, it's gigantic.)

Recent Excursions

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures.

Paul had to work in New Jersey last week, and we all went with him. We were able to stay with our friends, the Berry's. We had a great time and did a lot of fun things while we were there.

Here you go with the pictures.

This was the beach in Tom's River. We went to the beach a couple of times. Anna was terrified of the ocean, but she warmed up to the water, as you can see.
Paul spent most of his time digging holes for the girls. The girls just LOVE the beach.

We stopped on our way home to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We spent A LOT of time waiting in lines for the ferry, so it turned into a long day, but we did get some fun pictures. The girls were playing at the base of the Statue of Liberty.I love this picture because both of Anna's feet are off the ground. I really need to post some footage of her running. It's the cutest/funniest thing you've ever seen.


We went to the Popcorn Park Zoo in New Jersey. It is run by the Humane Society, so all of the animals in it have been rescued in some way. It was a perfect zoo for kids and parents. Not to big, but there were plenty of fun animals, including all kinds of birds that were free to roam the grounds. There were a lot of peacocks around, and you could walk right next to them. The girls were able to feed popcorn to the animals, although Anna just ate the popcorn herself.Samantha feeding the deer. She would stick her tongue out just like the deer.
At the beach again. This time it was Pleasant Point Beach. Samantha's beautiful sand angel.

Anna spends a lot of her spare time with her head on the floor, like she's about to do a somersault, but doesn't. She just sits there. Well, she was doing this, spotted her drink, and decided to drink and do her favorite activity at the same time.

We also went to Philadelphia while we were there. This is at the Liberty Bell.
We went to the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia. There were a lot of fun things for the girls to do.
