A Must-See Home Video

We finally videoed Samantha singing the "Latter-Day Prophets" song. We sang this to her at FHE just before General Conference, and she was hooked. She asked us to sing it to her several times every night that week. Then she just sang it completely by herself on her first try. What a smart girl!

Note to self - Remember to enjoy the messes!

Even after all this time being a mother, I still think to myself, "I can hurry and fold this last load of laundry even though my kids are awake now." You'd think I would have learned by now. I'm sure it will happen again.

So as I'm folding my last load of laundry the other day, Samantha wakes up. She comes in carrying her laundry basket full of books. Then she proceeds to dump them all over the floor. Then she carries in all of the cushions from her little couch and lays them all over my bedroom floor as well. Then Anna wakes up. I bring her in and she settles right into the mess. Samantha goes straight to the kitchen to get herself and Anna a snack of craisins, which they enjoy together while lounging on the pillows and books. You really can't get upset when you see your kids playing together like that. Especially after listening to Pres. Monson's talk last Conference. Instead, you get the camera and take a few pictures and video.

They were enjoying themselves immensely. Anna is very good at acting the part of a martyr, as you can see in the movie.



Side Note: So when I had put Samantha down for her nap that day, I went back into her room to grab her laundry. As I'm walking out Samantha says, "Mommy, be careful not to slip with that basket." I told her thanks and left the room. Then I hear her continuing with our conversation, so I open up her door and ask her what she needs. She says, "Mom, if you need help with the laundry, I will get out of bed, okay?" Maybe I should have taken her up on her offer. :)

Leaves and Little Girls = Happy Memories

I took some pictures of the girls the other day in our front yard and across the street at the cemetery. You're probably thinking how lazy we are to have so many leaves in our yard. You'd have to see our yard to understand. Just imagine how fun it would be to rake a forest. We don't have to imagine.
This is a picture of our backyard. I love the fall.
The other day we took a walk around a pond near our home. There's a trail that goes all the way around. It was very picturesque.
Could this picture be any more adorable? I think not. Anna is so sweet.

Our town has a Trick or Treat on Main Street the Thursday before Halloween every year. This was near the end, and was also the only picture we took. Who do you think was more tired - the parents or the kids?
