Ward Halloween Party

Samantha was a wingless fairy, although she did help me make some beautiful wings. She just didn't want to wear them. Anna was a chubby duck, which fit her perfectly.

After we got home. Anna was exhausted and Samantha wanted to stay up and eat more candy. You probably could tell all that just by looking at their faces.
We carved our pumpkin into a happy jack o'lantern. Samantha enjoyed that, I must say. She's not very bashful when it comes to putting your hand into sticky, slimy stuff. We also roasted the pumpkin seeds. Samantha didn't actually like them much, but she told Grandma they were tasty! Paul and I like them.I didn't get an after picture of the pumpkin. We were getting ready for the ward Halloween party. I did Samantha's hair while she was watching Paul carve the pumpkin.

Just Doing Catch Up . . .

We've done some really fun things in the last month that I haven't mentioned, so I thought I'd do a quick sum up:

Last month our friends, Brent and Cryssi, came with their little boy Kaison over the long weekend in September. We had the best time kayaking, sight-seeing, swimming, etc.

Paul had a birthday. I made a special dinner for him (that had the fire alarm going for about 5 minutes). The girls and I dressed up and had a special family birthday dinner.

Our friend from high school/USU, Lincoln and his wife Ali, came through Boston and stayed at our house. It was great to meet Ali and catch up with everything they've been doing. I think they had a great time sight-seeing the area.

We went to Sharon, Vermont last weekend and camped at Camp Joseph. We got back yesterday. The girls did awesome camping, and we had a great time with our fellow ward members who went. The weather was beautiful and Vermont was beautiful with all of the fall colors. I imagine I'll post pictures of the trip once I get them off the camera.


Here are some of our recent photos. Some are related to the events listed above, and some are not.This is my favorite yard sale find of the summer. We got this cute little settee in perfect condition for $20! It looks absolutely adorable in front of Samantha's corner windows. It matches the curtains perfectly! She loves her couch - now her favorite place for storytime.
This picture was taken when Cryssi and Brent were here. It's Anna, Samantha, Brent, and Kaison reading bedtime stories together.Anna is a great multi-tasker. She uses her mouth to hold extra objects, in this case a bottle. She also likes to hold more than one item in her hand at one time, and gets frustrated if things don't fit.
This is what happened one morning when Paul left his peach within Anna's reach before heading off to work one morning. It was just classic Anna behavior. She's got quick hands.

And Paul's birthday brownies. I only had enough candles to make the 3 in 3-0. That's right - my husband has left his twenties behind. SO weird.

Cape Cod

Here's a collage of some pictures we took from our trip to Cape Cod a few weeks ago. We spent 5 days there and had the most wonderful time!! We only live about an hour and a half away. We were able to see a lot of beautiful places!Picture info (starting from top left corner):

• a beautiful lighthouse in Wood's Hole. We rode our bikes down the Shining Sea Bikeway and ended at that lighthouse. We also saw an even more beautiful lighthouse on Martha's Vineyard and picnicked there.
• Anna on the beach near the place called "The Knob" which was land donated for public use from the family who previously owned it as private property.

• this picture was taken to show our view while riding on one of the bike paths on Martha's Vineyard. It was AWESOME! It was also extremely windy, which added to our workout.

• walking through Oak Bluffs in Martha's Vineyard. There is a historic village that consists of gingerbread houses - over a hundred of them, I'm sure. It was so cute!
