So we thought it was about time we mentioned our 3rd child! We haven't named her (yes "her"-look at the pink shoes) yet, but you could describe her as a transient, but friendly, family member who loves the camera, no matter who's taking the picture. So yeah, we thought it was pretty hilarious that this little girl decided to join us for our family picture on top of Cumorah's Hill. Why not? We're all brothers and sisters, right?
Anyway, we had a great trip to Palmyra this weekend. My sister flew in from Oregon and we drove up together on Friday and stayed till Sunday. Just being in the places where the Prophet Joseph Smith spent much of his life was incredible. We were able to do a temple session. My favorite moment was standing in the temple and looking out the big window that looks out on the Sacred Grove. You can see the window in the picture above with the temple in the trees. It was just awesome.This is a picture of Samantha at the top of Cumorah's Hill. It was quite a climb! She really enjoyed it.
The girls did really well for the most part. Samantha got carsick on the way home and threw up at least 5 times, so that was the hardest part of the trip. By the time we got home we were down to her last pair of pajamas. One more throw-up session and she would have ridden the rest of the way home in her underwear. The hardest part about her being sick was that we couldn't feed her anything or else she'd throw it up. She would say, "Mommy, I'm hungry." I would tell her that she couldn't eat because her tummy wasn't feeling well. Then she's say in a quiet pathetic voice, "Pleeease?" It was so sad! She also used the word "disgusting" several times on the way home to describe the situation. I thought that was a very accurate description. :) Of course she was fine once we got home and ate 3 bowls of cereal and went to bed.We did a lot of other fun things while Christyn was here, so I'll have to post more later. She went home today :( I miss her already. Samantha was very sad that she could not go on the airplane with Aunt Christyn.
