So this morning Samantha and I went out to work in the yard while Anna was napping. We were planting flowers and watering plants and flowers, which is Samantha's favorite part. In fact, she likes it so much that she decided she ought to water herself. Well, actually, right as we were walking up the porch steps to go inside I hear Samantha say, "I need . . ." -- The words that were going to come after became obvious to me as the water (pee) begins running down both of her little legs and puddling on the porch step, and she (and I) realized it was too late. Luckily she was wearing her crocs (which I must say are not the most asthetically pleasing shoes in my eyes, but very practical for children in the summertime), so they just washed right up.
Later today, after her naptime, she said to me (while sitting on the potty - this must have jogged her memory :)), "I peed in my shoes, remember?" I said I remembered. She says, "Yeah, yesterday, remember?" (with emphasis on the word yesterday) She continues, "Yeah, yesterday . . . (a pause for deep thinking) . . .yeah, at eight forty-five." I had to laugh.
